Who is Darkfiend?
Thats a long story. Some know me from the LA Goth Club Scene. Others know me from my involvment with the Los Angeles Pagan community. Those people know of my affiliation with the Syndicate of the Five Points. Still more people know me from online services such as Paltalk, Myspace, Facebook, and of course World of Warcraft.
Beyond that, I have many creative interests. I am a writer. I am a web designer. I am a graphic artist. Lets face it, I know a lot about alot of things. Some of my writings will pop up on this site, others will be more, be request only. I am open about all facets of my life, but I do like to retain some parts of it. If you have an interest, ask.
I grew up in a small town in the Mid-Hudson valley region of New York. Highland was a quiet suburb of a small city called Poughkeepsie.
It was a great place to grow up I suppose. It's as 'American' as you can get. We had no less then 5 major apple orchards in our sleepy hamlet. The fall season there smelled of apples, no matter how much you tried to mask it...... it was always there. I had a pretty normal childhood I suuppose. I was one of those kids that was misunderstood. For some time they thought I had a learning disability. Wow.... were they wrong.
My IQ as it turned out after testing over and over was in the 145 range. I wasn't having trouble learning, I was simply not challenged by their meager attempts at making me learn what they wanted. Being a small school, they really didn't know what to do with me, so essentally, they left me alone. I made it threw with little effort. But school was not nearly enough to keep my need for information quenched. My uncle Fred had given me a computer at an early age, and I just tore into it..... litterally. the first thing I did was to take it apart and figure out basically how it worked. I even managed to put it back together. Within a year I was Telneting around the world, and got involed in the seeder side of the world of computers. I was inspired by a possible relation in John 'Captain Crunch' Draper. I really don't care to go too deeply into what I did or did not do back then, lets just say that I was not a very good follower of federal Law. Between phreaking, pirating, and outright theft by social engineering, my teen years were filled with what all teens want, money, power, and the ability to fear and/or respect me. Few would believe some of the things we got away with, but it was a different era back then. Things like passwords and credit card monitoring had yet to be even thought of. If you were on a computer network, chances are it was unprotected. If it was protected, it was a joke.
More to come......
